JORHAT, Jan. 12 -- A demonstrator on Friday turned naked in front of the Jorhat Deputy Commissioner's office to protest against the Central Government bringing in the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and getting the Bill passed in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
The demonstrator, identified as Mantu Dutta of Rajabari area here, created a flutter as he moved around on the AT Road around noon without clothes and carrying a poster against the Bill and shouting slogans against the BJP-led dispensations at the Centre and in Assam.
The administration and police authorities were taken by surprise by Dutta's act as people in the area, especially women, moved away from the spot. After protesting for about 15 minutes, policemen arrived on the spot and...
