DIMAPUR, Jan. 12 -- Naga People's Front (NPF) president Dr Sh'r-hozelie Liezietsu on Saturday said the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, passed by the Lok Sabha, is a threat to 'our future', describing it as a move to wipe out the indigenous people of the entire North East.
The NPF chief said the Union Cabinet's approval of the Bill on January 7 and the Lok Sabha passing it instantly on January 9 was a 'nude exposure of the brute force applied by the NDA Government at the Centre'. He viewed this as a total disregard to the sentiments of the people of the country, particularly the people of the North East.
