Sri Lanka, March 28 -- The Indian Premier League (IPL), in a bid to eliminate the subjective element in adjudicating above-waist no-balls, has introduced a new technology in collaboration with Hawk-Eye. This technology measures the height of the ball as it passes the batter at the popping crease and compares it against the pre-recorded toe-to-waist height of the batter in an upright position. If the ball's height exceeds the recorded waist height of the batter, it is declared a no-ball; otherwise, it is deemed a fair delivery.
