PANJIM, April 28 -- On a day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to Goa to address an election rally, the opposition Congress demanded withdrawal of notification for approval given to Karnataka for Kalasa-Bhandura project.

In a series of tweets, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar said, "Goa is waiting for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come to Goa today with a notification of withdrawal of approval given to Kalasa-Bhandura Project of Karnataka to divert water from Goa's lifeline Mother Mhadei."

He also said the State of Goa is waiting for the Prime Minister to declare scrapping of three linear projects which are causing environmental destruction.
