Jammu, May 1 -- Panic triggered when a low intensity earthquake hit the hilly parts of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said on Wednesday.

He said that on the intervening night, an earthquake of 3.4 magnitude hit the Kishtwar district, the National Center for Seismology posted on X.

It further said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 30 kilometres with 3.4 magnitude on the Richter scale.

No injury or major loss was reported so far, said an official.
