Dar es Salaam, April 25 -- DODOMA: The lawmakers have today approved the Energy Ministrys spending plan, amounting to 1.8tri/- for the 2024/25 fiscal year.

In the forthcoming fiscal year, the ministry is determined to address power challenges permanently by repairing transmission infrastructures.

The dockets Minister, Dr. Dotto Biteko, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister, noted that as of March this year, the state of electricity generation in the country has increased from 1,872.1 MW to 2,138 MW, up by 14.2 percent.

He promised that the Ministry will manage, strengthen, and develop the energy sector, a move that has helped the country in generating more power.
