Six bus drivers, four conductors nabbed for using narcotics
Sri Lanka, March 19 -- Six drivers and four conductors who were operating passenger buses after using narcotic drugs were arrested in a special raid conducted by the Dam Street Police.
According to information received by the Dam Street Police, a person who was supplying drugs to bus drivers and conductors was arrested during the raid last Saturday.
Police said that the suspect, who is a resident of Grandpass, supplies a variety of narcotics, including ice and heroin, which are requested by bus drivers and conductors.
A senior police officer stated that when the bus drivers and conductors bring passengers to Colombo, they make a phone call to the person specifying the type of drug they need and accordingly the supply will be made.
