Retired ASP's chain snatched at doorstep
Sri Lanka, March 11 -- Police are conducting investigations to arrest a suspect who robbed the Rs.1.2 million worth gold necklace of a retired Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) at his house in Habarakada, Homagama on Saturday evening.
An unidentified person wearing a helmet and a face mask had knocked at the front door of the victim's residence and had snatched the 8-pound gold necklace when the victim came out to check as to who knocked at the door.
The victim E. P. Thilakarathne has lodged a complaint with the Athurugiriya Police over the incident. The suspect had fled in a bike following the robbery.
No injuries were reported to the victim due to that incident.
