UP govt allocates Rs 10 Cr funding for Medical School at IIT Kanpur
India, Feb. 10 -- The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has allocated a fund of Rs 10 crore in the recently announced State Budget 2024-25 for the Medical School at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-K).
IIT-K has established the Gangwal School of Medical Sciences & Technology, and the Yadupati Singhania Super Speciality Hospital. While the former will cater to postgraduate academic degrees and biomedical research, the latter would be a 500-bed super specialty hospital fulfilling medical components and high-end care. The state budgetary allocation for IIT Kanpur's Medical School is a significant development, which will help consolidate infrastructure and related services.
