Jakarta, April 19 -- Indonesia's Director General of Air Transport Kristi Endah Murni reported that the number of air passengers during the recent Eid al-Fitr homecoming season increased by 4 percent compared to 2023.

She stated at the Eid Transport Command Center closing ceremony in Jakarta on Friday that from April 3 to 18, the number of passengers on domestic and international flights was 4,079,613.

Murni added that the figure also showed an improved recovery rate of 94 percent compared with 2019 or before the pandemic.

"We also recorded 31,406 aircraft movements, an 87-percent recovery compared with 2019, and an increase of 3 percent from 2023," she said.
