Jakarta, April 23 -- Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi informed that the Indonesian government has adopted the global initiative on child protection in the digital space.

"We are among the few 30 countries that have adopted the child protection in the digital space (initiative)," he said after the "2024 Road to World Public Relations Forum" here on Tuesday.

Setiadi added that the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) is working with the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) and the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry to build a safe digital space for children.

He also underlined the importance of parents' role in the effort to protect children in the digital space.
